Listen back to the Horizon Radio DJ’s shows from 1981 to 1985. Horizon Radio captivated London and beyond with it’s fresh approach to broadcasting, becoming the biggest unlicensed radio station in London & the Home Counties during the summer of 1984 through until close on September 15th 1985.
All the DJ’s became household names. The listeners took the station and the DJ’s into their homes and made the station, an important part of their lives. The DJ’s did not get paid to do their programs and even supplied their own records to play on their shows. The Horizon Team and listeners became The Original Soul Family. 4 decades on and people are still talking about the station and the DJ’s. This truly was an amazing time for UK Radio, The Horizon Radio DJ’s and you our much loved Soul Family, came close to what we all worked so hard for and that was a 24/7 Soul Radio Station on Vhf FM.
